What ARADURU checks inside your MP4 or MOV file
The checker reads container metadata instead of trying to decode every frame. It looks for the structures that help explain many broken, truncated, or mislabeled video files.
Does the file look like MP4 or MOV?
Looks for a readable file-type box and identifies the MP4 or QuickTime container brand.
Are the container boundaries complete?
Checks whether top-level boxes fit inside the available file data instead of running past the end.
Is movie metadata present?
Looks for the movie metadata structure used to describe tracks, timing, and other playback information.
Is media data present?
Checks for the media-data structure that normally carries encoded video and audio samples.
Is a video track detected?
Checks the movie metadata for at least one video track and reports audio-track information separately.
Can useful video metadata be read?
Reports available duration, resolution, video codec, audio presence, and audio codec without claiming to decode every frame.

The container may be readable but have a wrong extension or another warning that deserves a closer look.
An important video-container check failed
Missing movie metadata, missing media data, or invalid box boundaries can indicate an incomplete or damaged copy.
A healthy container does not guarantee playable video frames
ARADURU checks the MP4/MOV container and readable metadata. Playback can still fail because of unsupported codecs, damaged media samples, DRM, frame-level corruption, player limitations, or other issues outside this structural check.
- Keep the original. Test other players, remuxing, or repair attempts on a copy.
- Try a trusted player. Confirm that it supports the detected video and audio codecs.
- Get a fresh copy. Re-copy or re-download the video if it came from a camera, cloud service, message, or transfer.
- Do not rename to convert. Changing another extension to .mp4 or .mov does not create a valid video container.
Your selected video stays in your browser
The current checker analyzes the selected video locally in the browser and does not upload it to the ARADURU server. The current beta may load JavaScript libraries from a third-party CDN, but the selected video is not sent to those library servers by this checker.
Common MP4 and MOV file-check questions
Can ARADURU repair a damaged MP4 or MOV file?
No. This page diagnoses supported container-level problems and suggests next steps. It does not rewrite, remux, or repair the selected video.
Can ARADURU tell me the video codec?
When the movie metadata is readable, ARADURU can report the detected primary video codec and audio codec. That does not guarantee that your player supports them.
What does missing movie metadata mean?
If the expected movie metadata is missing, the file may be incomplete, not finalized correctly, or not a normal MP4/MOV container. ARADURU does not treat that clue as proof of the exact cause.
Can it detect a wrong MP4 or MOV extension?
Yes. If the internal container is recognizable, ARADURU can compare the detected MP4 or QuickTime type with the filename extension.
Does the checker upload my video?
No. In the current version, the selected video is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to the ARADURU server.
